List View Column Formatter Overview
With the roll-out of the new modern interface for SharePoint Lists and Libraries, we are now finally seeing the ability to customize the format of these views. SharePoint Lists and Libraries now provide the ability to customize the format of views using the List View Column Formatter to add custom aesthetics and logic to views.
With these low-code solutions, all users will have the ability to customize their content to create amazing visualizations.
Individual Columns can be formatted based on the JSON provided in the Format Column settings.
Updating the list view column format of an existing column
1. Navigate to the list or library.
2. Left-click on the column you wish to modify.
3. Under Column Settings > Select Format this column. A panel will appear for editing.
4. Paste or type the JSON code you wish to use for formatting.
5. Click Preview to test the applied changes.
6. Click Save to finalize changes.
